Stressbusters Event

Hello NYU nurses!

Alas, we have approached midterm season yet again. In the midst of studying into the wee hours of the night and cutting back on sleep, this can be a hectic time for nursing students.

To help combat some of that stress, we are going to cohost a Stressbusters event with WHSNA next week!

When: Monday, February 29th

Time: 2-3pm
Where: 433 First Avenue, Room LL1-04
AboutStressbusters is an incredibly fun and far-reaching community wellness program. It trains and dispatches volunteer teams of undergrad and grad students to provide FREE five-minute backrubs and stress information to other students.

After a long weekend of studying, what better way to destress than getting a free back rub? Plus you'll get tips for future reference to not overload yourself in the midst of exams.

We hope to see you there!

WHSNA&NSGH x TECH Event 2016

The WHSNA&NSGH x TECH Event with WHSNA yesterday was a great success!

Three speakers, Rebecca Callahan, Weronika Janczuk, and Natasha Birnbaum came to discuss how technology is changing the face of how we receive and deliver health care. The speakers discussed the most current, innovative ways for women to connect, exchange information and access knowledge from one another via mobile apps and other technology-driven platforms.

From left to right: (Ms. Rebecca Callahan, Ms. Weronika Janczuk, and Ms. Natasha Birnbaum)

Rebecca Callahan discussed MAVEN's goal of providing women the affordable but definitive support in fields like fertility, pregnancy, postpartum care, and children's health. Maven believes women shouldn't have to go to the doctor every time they have a question about their health either. If you're interested in becoming a campus representative to help spread the word about Maven, apply online at https://www.mavenclinic.com/maven-campus-ambassadorsFor more hiring information, contact monique@mavenclinic.com

Weronika Janczuk talked about FEMM as a women's health program that teaches the link between hormones and health. FEMM advocates courses that discuss the knowledge and recognition of hormonal cycles to enable women to manage their health and fertility in order to make informed choices. If you are interested in becoming a FEMM educator, you may qualify for scholarship for the courses. For more information and to apply online, go to https://www.femmhealth.org/teach-femm. Natasha Birnbaum from Mogul Courses advocated their dedication to self-improvement courses to help women accomplish their goals in all areas of life.
